Our hospital has experienced 3 major additions since we opened in 1972. We opened the first phase of our new state-of-the-art veterinary hospital in December 2007. One goal at the forefront of our project planning was to create a comfortable experience for our clients, our staff and most importantly our patients. With this in mind, we have designed our waiting area to feel more like home than a hospital.
If you are new to our area, we would like to invite your pet to become part of our family. At Colonial Veterinary Hospital we strive to provide your pet with the same care we provide our own pets.
Our Facility
Our hospital is known for its cleanliness. We are inspected by the American Association of Hospitals for Animals (AAHA) and New York State’s Veterinary Facility Accreditation Program (VFAP). Our housekeeping staff is masterful at keeping every corner of the hospital on a strict cleaning schedule in addition to their rigorous twice daily cleaning of all surfaces of the hospital.
Our Staff
Our hospital employs 10 veterinarians: 2 board certified surgeons, 1 board certified radiologist, 2 emergency doctors, 3 general practitioners, and 1 veterinary acupuncturist. We have a team of licensed veterinary technicians which includes a licensed physical therapist. We have additional staff members including receptionists, technician assistants, veterinary students, and kennel staff.
As mentioned earlier, we have board-certified specialists in the fields of surgery and radiology. In addition, most of our doctors have special interests in different areas of medicine, such as health maintenance, acupuncture, geriatric medicine, endocrinology, oncology, and emergency medicine.
Our Location
Colonial Veterinary Hospital is conveniently located on North Triphammer Road, just north of the Ithaca Mall across from the YMCA.
